Egypt - or a 14 day dream!!!
10/16/2010
Salam Aleikum,
actually i don't want to write, because that means i'm back in Germany, where it's cold and rainy but unfortunatly i'm back and i will write only a little bit about Alex and my vacation in Egypt. We had such a blast and this space wouldn't be enough to tell all the details. One thing is to say first. I think it was the best vacation i've ever had (btw. i don't count the US as vacation) it was a 14 day dream. Everything was awesome. There wasn't a day (besides the first day, well actually the flying part) i wanted to go home. As i said, i'd rather be in Egypt right now. I never expected such a great counrty. I really never was so intrested in that country but since i got the chance to go, i thought i give it a chance. Luckily i did. I fell in love with Egypt and know that it wasn't my last visit. OK, to start at the beginning...
Alex and I got on the plane on Sep 30th, 2010. It was a cold, chilly night and we arraived Frankfurt more sleeply than anything else. But we were extremly excited. The flight sucked bad times, i will never ever fly with Koral Blue Airlines again and would not recommend them. It was so uncomfortable, the service was not good at all and it seemed it took them forever to get to Egypt. But since it was only a 4 hours flight, it was ok.. But still i will NEVER fly with them again, i rather spend more money on a flight than going on that airplane again.
Ok, we landed it was really hot. Amazingly hot. We got to the Ship and were all excited about it. The Nile Cruise was great, never thought it would be that great. That probably because of the great people we met. We were a 9 Person Group of Germans and we had a fantastic time. I'm thankful for everyone i met on the ship and i honestly hope we can meet again here in Germany. It was nice to meet so many great people - first i was a little afraid because we were expecting more "old" people. But we NEVER had the feeling of being too young, no one gave us the feeling of not being part of everything. The people weren't that old anyways. ;-)
We started in Luxor, visited the Karnak Temple and the Luxor Temple (both really nice Temple),the valley of the Kings (e.g. Ramses 6 Grave etc.), Hatshepsut Temple and many other things - then we headed off to Edfu, where we stayed one night, in the morning we visited the Edfu Temple and took off to KombOmbo, where we went to see the KombOmbo Temple. I loved Alexa her "explaining everything", yes they had bbq grills and burgers back before Jesus was born... Thx for telling us Alexa. Back on the Ship we headed toward Assuan and stayed there a couple of days. Saw a Nubian Village (with a little baby crocodile, shisha, coffee and that sweet little baby Mohammed), a Bazar (omg it was so funny, i love the phrases Egyptian People know in German^^). Also we went to look at the unfinished obelisk (yeah now i finally know what we were supposed to see...).. Also we had a "Egypt Night" on the ship. We dressed like Egyptian People, with our calapias, scarfs and everything (pictures on Facebook). This night was really great, we were dancing, than Alexa was dancing alone and we enjoyed one of the last days on the ship. Back in Luxor we celebrated Alexa her birthday (happy belated honey :D) and on the 7th we sat 7 hours in a Bus to get to Hurghada. This vacation had two parts - the 7 day Nile Cruise and 7 days at a hotel in Hurghada...
Hurghada, what to say. Not a really beautiful city, it was build for tourists and everyone who knows us, knows we are not like "normal" tourists. We don't want all that tourist stuff, we want to get to know the country and culture. So we met two Egypt Guys, which showed us alot and made many things with us (thank you, you two). We actually spoke with a lot of Egypt People. We did everything we were not supposed to do or people told us not to do. But we kept a eye on each other and we know we can trust each other, so nothing bad will happen. And it didn't. We did a lot of so called "shop-hopping", that means we went from shop to shop to look at the stuff, talk, drink tea and maybe smoke a shisha. It was really interesting, we got to know alot about the culture. But we also did some tourist stuff. On the first Saturday in Hurghada we went with Nicole (met her on the Cruise) on a Quad Safari in the desert. It was absolutley awesome, even though i was a little afraid of the Quads, so Alexa drove and I enjoyed the landscape while sitting behind her. On that Safari we also visited a Beduin Village, got another Shisha, saw many snakes and other animals in a terarium and did a camel ride. Really cool by the way. :) Sundays we went with our new Egypt friend to go on a snorkeling trip. WOW, i never snokeled before but i love it and i know Alexa also loved it. It was amazing, really beautiful. I mean the red sea is totally pretty itself but the snorkling was a great add. We saw so many awesome fishes and corals, really beautiful. Sadly we forgot to buy a underwater camera. Well, next time. ;-) Mondays we had a day full of "shop-hopping" and in the evening we met with Nicole and Holger (also a guy met on the ship) in Hurghada City. We went to a Bar called "For You", this is the bar where the two egypt guys took us the first night in Hurghada and we fell in love with it. We had a great night with Nicole and Holger, smoked Shisha, drank and talked - it was really nice to meet them again. Thanks for such a great night. :)
Tuesday was our second snorkling trip. It was not as great as the first one, but only because the Tour Guide kind of sucked. He was mean and not kind at all. But the fishes and corals were great too. The only thing i don't like about snorkling are the people. Omg it was so crowded in the water.. But still enjoyable. ;) Also we went to the Paradise Island. A Island with no shadow, white sand and beautiful water... it really was a paradise. Wednesday was our last day in Egypt. We went to Hurghada again to finish shopping, went to the "For You" Bar again and enjoyed our last hours in the beautiful Egypt. At 9pm we got picked up at the hotel and got to the airport, where we met all from our group (ship group - besides Axel and Christine, they only had the Nile Cruise - sadly) and flew home... :( :( Salam Habibi!!!!!
The flight back home was not better than the flight to Egypt. It was even more horrible. This time, not only I got sick. Alexa got sick too and she had to suffer quite awhile. But we made it home and looked at all the pictures (a total amount of 965 self-taken-photos) and the videos we bought.
We still look at the pictures quite often (i think almost everytime we see each other and we see each other almost on a daily basis..:D), we keep talking about this awesome vacation. It was great. Thanks to my parents friends for giving us this vacation and thanks to my parents for helping us pay a little and thanks to the people we met in Egypt (all, Germans and Egyptian). Because of you all, Alexa and I had a unforgettable vacation. THANK YOU!
Now, the last sentences. ;-) I hope we meet all the nice Persons we met on the Nile Cruise (our awesome 9 Person Group) again. And to Egypt is to say, we will come back.. Sooner or Later but believe it will be soon enough. ;-) xD To the photos is to say, if you want to see more pictures (a couple are on my Facebook-Page) just ask me. I will be happy to show you some of our photos we took. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. :)
Also a huge Thank You to Alexa. Honey, thank you for coming with me, thank you for making this 14 days so unforgetable. Thank You. I love you honey!!!!
This is only the basic Information. It happened so much, i can't write everything down, it not even near to be possible. :) So enjoy and be jelaous... haha.. just kidding. Enjoy!
Salam!
p.s. sorry for spelling and grammar mistakes, most of it i wrote in the middle of the night. ;-) Busy Busy... xD
