ValentinesDay

2/13/2011

ValentinesDay is coming up. Are you excited, totally over-whelmed by your loved ones and nervous about it? Or are you like me, who hates that day and thinks that this is a totally useless day where people spend so much money, which they could donate. Yeah i'm a valentines-day hater. I know what some are thinking now. But let me tell you this. I don't hate it because i'm not with someone at this moment, i would not even celebrate it if i'd be in a relationship. I hate it because it makes no sense to me why giving presents, flowers, candy and whatsoever away on a special day, where everything is much more expensive as usual?... If you can't show your bf/gf or husband/wife that you love her on every single day, than don't do it on valentines-day...All that money you spend could be donated to people who are in need. Children die because they don't have enough food or clean water, or they get sick because they don't have doctors and hospitals. Or People don't have a home because some Nature-Catastrophe took it away. They really need money and help, but yeah just pay too much money on things you could buy every day for a cheaper price... I honestly don't get that. But everybody should make their own decision, i think differently.

I also hate that say because on Facebook it seems like everybody LOVES the other soooooooo much. I'm sick of your Status saying: " Darling?? I love you so much, i don't deserve you" or " I love you always and forever, you are the one".. Come on, can't you tell the person that eye on eye? You've to use Facebook (or any other social network) and annoy others with it? You know, i'm really happy that each and everyone who post that kind of stuff is happy. I'm glad they found the true love and have so much love to give. But that's nothing you should put on a social network status because there are people who are sick of it... I can't read another stupid status like that. It makes me so mad... I hate days which others tell me what to do. Like Mothersday, i want to honor my mother, i want to show her i love her and that i owe her something... But i don't want anyone to tell me what day i should do that. I don't want the stores to force me to buy expensive bull-shit.

If i truely want to show a person something, i will do that and i can do that on every day.. 365 days a year.. why freak out about a day someone created to earn more money? It's just wrong in my eyes.

Well, i still wish everyone who's happy a great day and be happy for as long as possible...hard times will follow - believe, they always come! ;) (and i can say that because it's still the 13th... muhahahaha)

usually at this time of the year i'm sitting on my wrapped presents and wait for the day when i can go and lay them under the tree. This year seems to be different. It's only 8 days left until Christmas Eve and i have ONE present, which isn't wrapped yet. I don't have a clue what else to get or when i should get it. I love christmas and everything around and usually as i said i've my presents already in november... I'm so not motivated to go out and look for stuff. I love snow and cold weather and believe me i was told to wear warm cloth even it doesn't look good, so i am really wearing good wintercloth. BUT the weather outside is only great and loveable if you are inside with a nice cup of hot cocoa or tea. I get an headache if i go out. It's extremly cold this december...
Hopefully i will get my Christmas-Shopping done before the calender hits December 23, i would hate it if i have to go hunt for something on the 24th. Wish me luck everyone. Hopefully i've time monday to go shopping... :)

I know i've written alot about my friends lately, so i will do write again today. Because it seems so unreal to have 2 really really good friends, the best i've ever had and i had a best friend for 10 years (sadly it kind of broke after i moved to kassel, but it's ok - we still talk)! But my two best friends are really great. I never felt so understood in my life. I'm more than thankful for meeting them. Right now, they give me strenghts to live, they give my life a sence! Especially one of them. I truely feel that we are soul mates!

Ok, i think my next post will be around christmas! Let's see what happens until then - 8 days to go! yippey!!!!! xD

December! finally...

12/04/2010

It's the last month, of the first decade of this millenium... how amazing is that?

I can't believe how fast time flies. I'm back in Germany for over 4 years now, it seems like yesterday my parents took me to the airport and sent me off to the great USA 5 years ago... Time really is a thing which goes too fast for me. Also i can't believe that i live 1 year in Kassel.. I'm in my 3rd Semester in Uni.. Hello? Where did that year go? It happend so much. Well, i don't want to complain. I'm greatful for what i have and thankful that i can live each day, it's more than i could ask for!

Since i should be packing but i got pissed because i lost the liquid-bag again i thought i write here for a little while until i go and buy a freaking new one. Also i've to buy a new sunglasses, some shorts and other important things you need if you fly in a country which still has 30 degrees... I just didn't think about the problem which showed up now... Where the heck am i supposed to get all that stuff in december, one day before we leave? Yes, i know i'm a little late. Well, wish me luck i will get at least a sunglasses...it would suck if i don't have one - too bad my old one broke in october... still missing it. :(

What else happend? Oh yes, I finished to watch star wars, now i can finally say I DID WATCH STAR WARS!!! yippey. The night was amazing as the first one.. We had so much fun... I just love to hang with him and alex also joined us for a few ouzo shots and a couple of beers... ;-) Now you can imagine what this night was like! haha!

Thursday we had a little goodbye party (haha we only stay 10 days but he thought we need a goodbye party)... It was nice to chat with my best friends and later Chrisch also joined us or better we went to his place. There we drank, smoked and had fun. It's funny to teach drunken guys the waltz! :) We ended up staying until about 4:30 this night... Didn't even think about the 4 hour arabic class we have fridays. But as my father always told me "if you can drink, you can work" and that's what we did. Even though we were deadly tired, we went and sat 4 hours in our arabic class and even learned somethings. Arabic is awesome by the way - i like the language! :)

Ok, i should really get back to my packing. I want to go to Kassel's Christmasmarket later, to have a few Glühwein ^^...and tomorrow at 8:30am we'll be on the train towards Stuttgart where we meet Diana and Martin... Uhhh Vacation is coming up and i'm soooo excited!
Be safe everyone!

update

11/23/2010

Hiya,

life is pretty good right now. Uni is not stressing me too much at the moment (but i'm sure that will start sooner or later). Vacation is coming up in a bit plus it's Christmastime... Everyone who knows me, knows that i'm a total christmas lover. I love the smells, the decoration, the lights, the tradition, the quality-family time, the christmas-markets, the gingerbread, the giving others presents, wrapping presents, sending out cards and so on. I'm in love with Christmas and i think i will always be. I don't know where that's coming from but i have it. ;-)

The Market opened yesterday here in Kassel, i've to say it's a pretty cool one. But that's not hard to say after growing up with the Delmenhorster Christmas Market. I'm just sad i didn't have a chance to go yet. Today i spent my day at Alex her place, baking and watching movies (Weihnachten mit Astrid Lindgren), which made us think about our childhood. Others would say we are crazy (which we are, ok ) but we love Pippi, Michel and co. Our cookies turned out to be delicious! ;-) If you want one, you need to get your butt to kassel...

Hmmm what else to say? It's been a while since i posted but nothing really happens in my life right now. OK, i could mention that i watched the first three (the new ones) Star Wars movies for the very first time in my life and i've to admit that they ain't too bad. Next Saturday we'll watch the last three. :)
Also, i spent a weekend at home, since my mother turned 59 (happy bday mommy, i love you). I got to meet a really good friend of mine and i saw my niece for the first time (it doesnt matter, why i didn't see her before). She's a real cutie, for some reason i think parts of her look like me as a baby...maybe because her father is my brother but it's weired to see it. ;-)

Ok, i gotta go..My flaty just got home and is pissing me off. I didn't mean to destroy the light.. ^^ haha... That's the price you have to pay if you want to live with me.. Nothing is safe! xD

LINKIN PARK - beyond amazing

10/30/2010

My 6th Linkin Park Concert and I've to say, it was the best I've seen. Every Concert I saw was great, awesome and amazing but yesterday's show was more than all that. Linkin Park were beyond amazing. They played songs from all four albums, a really great mix between "new" and "old". Chester and Mike rocked the stage, so did the other four. I can barely write my thoughts down, it was just great.
This Band is the best on earth, everybody who knows me, knows i've always been a freak about them, but this show made me realize that i'm more than a freak, yes i admit i'm totally obsessed and very proud of it.

It started with Chester taking over Joes part (for those who don't know, Chester is the singer, Joe the DJ). Chester was up front and hitting all those bottons. He did a great job. Also i liked that Chester and Brad (guitar) played some kind of drums for a few songs... Things I never expected but which turned out to be great.
His voice was amazing like always. He's such a great musician, they all are great musicians but everybody knows that i've (just) a little crush on Chester. ;-) I always love when they play "New Divide", since this is my favorite song played live but it also changed yesterday. I'm so in love with the new songs live, during the new songs i felt like i'm in heaven, so much engery given from them - crazy. My new favorite song played live is Iridicent by the way... :)

Yes, the show was great, don't have to write that once again but i want to write just a little more about the show. They started on time, which is unusual and played 1:40h (if you ask me, it's way too short)... They were rocking the stage from the first second until the last. It's unbelieveable what they do, i mean yes, it's their job and it's what they do alot but still. They have this talent to get the crowds attention from second one and that wont stop until we sadly have to leave.I also liked that all 6 of them sang along on one song. The end was Bleed it out (wuuhhhuuu Chester topless - yummy) with a few parts of A Place for my Head in it, great remix, let me tell you. First i was a little confused because i was singing along with Chester's Bleed it Out parts and suddenly he changed to A Place for my Head but since i know every single lyric it was not much of a problem to switch. :)

Even though i'm not in the middle of the standing crowd (other story why not, sad but i've my reasons) i rock like one of them. ;-) I don't care about the other people around me, i just sing, scream, head-bang, jump, rap, everything. I'm a Laura nobody would expect. :) Totally outgoing and self-confident. I don't know why i'm this way on a show but i am and i like it. For me it's Linkin Park who gives me so much comfort to be like it.

One day after the show i already think of my next chance to see them. I can't wait to see them again. Hopefully next year, missed the chance to buy my ticket for Frankfurt on Tuesday.. :( Would've loved to go.

I thank Franzi for going to the show with me. Thank you for the woman at the merchandise, i know i'm picky and need loads of time to decide. Thank you to the guy beside me, he moved a little, so i've more space to jump.. (he was reading a book anyways^^) Also i want to thank my father, he drove us to Hamburg and waited all the time, so he can drive us back home - thank you daddy, i owe you one. :) And last but not least, a special Thank You to Linkin Park (i know, they will never know - so what??) for giving me all this, for playing shows, for doing such great music, for being them, for making me so happy.

Ok, this was just a short text about last nights Linkin Park show. I'm still speechless, so that's all you get. :) haha....

LINKIN PARK always and forever! ;-)

Egypt - or a 14 day dream!!!

10/16/2010

Salam Aleikum,

actually i don't want to write, because that means i'm back in Germany, where it's cold and rainy but unfortunatly i'm back and i will write only a little bit about Alex and my vacation in Egypt. We had such a blast and this space wouldn't be enough to tell all the details. One thing is to say first. I think it was the best vacation i've ever had (btw. i don't count the US as vacation) it was a 14 day dream. Everything was awesome. There wasn't a day (besides the first day, well actually the flying part) i wanted to go home. As i said, i'd rather be in Egypt right now. I never expected such a great counrty. I really never was so intrested in that country but since i got the chance to go, i thought i give it a chance. Luckily i did. I fell in love with Egypt and know that it wasn't my last visit. OK, to start at the beginning...

Alex and I got on the plane on Sep 30th, 2010. It was a cold, chilly night and we arraived Frankfurt more sleeply than anything else. But we were extremly excited. The flight sucked bad times, i will never ever fly with Koral Blue Airlines again and would not recommend them. It was so uncomfortable, the service was not good at all and it seemed it took them forever to get to Egypt. But since it was only a 4 hours flight, it was ok.. But still i will NEVER fly with them again, i rather spend more money on a flight than going on that airplane again.
Ok, we landed it was really hot. Amazingly hot. We got to the Ship and were all excited about it. The Nile Cruise was great, never thought it would be that great. That probably because of the great people we met. We were a 9 Person Group of Germans and we had a fantastic time. I'm thankful for everyone i met on the ship and i honestly hope we can meet again here in Germany. It was nice to meet so many great people - first i was a little afraid because we were expecting more "old" people. But we NEVER had the feeling of being too young, no one gave us the feeling of not being part of everything. The people weren't that old anyways. ;-)

We started in Luxor, visited the Karnak Temple and the Luxor Temple (both really nice Temple),the valley of the Kings (e.g. Ramses 6 Grave etc.), Hatshepsut Temple and many other things - then we headed off to Edfu, where we stayed one night, in the morning we visited the Edfu Temple and took off to KombOmbo, where we went to see the KombOmbo Temple. I loved Alexa her "explaining everything", yes they had bbq grills and burgers back before Jesus was born... Thx for telling us Alexa. Back on the Ship we headed toward Assuan and stayed there a couple of days. Saw a Nubian Village (with a little baby crocodile, shisha, coffee and that sweet little baby Mohammed), a Bazar (omg it was so funny, i love the phrases Egyptian People know in German^^). Also we went to look at the unfinished obelisk (yeah now i finally know what we were supposed to see...).. Also we had a "Egypt Night" on the ship. We dressed like Egyptian People, with our calapias, scarfs and everything (pictures on Facebook). This night was really great, we were dancing, than Alexa was dancing alone and we enjoyed one of the last days on the ship. Back in Luxor we celebrated Alexa her birthday (happy belated honey :D) and on the 7th we sat 7 hours in a Bus to get to Hurghada. This vacation had two parts - the 7 day Nile Cruise and 7 days at a hotel in Hurghada...

Hurghada, what to say. Not a really beautiful city, it was build for tourists and everyone who knows us, knows we are not like "normal" tourists. We don't want all that tourist stuff, we want to get to know the country and culture. So we met two Egypt Guys, which showed us alot and made many things with us (thank you, you two). We actually spoke with a lot of Egypt People. We did everything we were not supposed to do or people told us not to do. But we kept a eye on each other and we know we can trust each other, so nothing bad will happen. And it didn't. We did a lot of so called "shop-hopping", that means we went from shop to shop to look at the stuff, talk, drink tea and maybe smoke a shisha. It was really interesting, we got to know alot about the culture. But we also did some tourist stuff. On the first Saturday in Hurghada we went with Nicole (met her on the Cruise) on a Quad Safari in the desert. It was absolutley awesome, even though i was a little afraid of the Quads, so Alexa drove and I enjoyed the landscape while sitting behind her. On that Safari we also visited a Beduin Village, got another Shisha, saw many snakes and other animals in a terarium and did a camel ride. Really cool by the way. :) Sundays we went with our new Egypt friend to go on a snorkeling trip. WOW, i never snokeled before but i love it and i know Alexa also loved it. It was amazing, really beautiful. I mean the red sea is totally pretty itself but the snorkling was a great add. We saw so many awesome fishes and corals, really beautiful. Sadly we forgot to buy a underwater camera. Well, next time. ;-) Mondays we had a day full of "shop-hopping" and in the evening we met with Nicole and Holger (also a guy met on the ship) in Hurghada City. We went to a Bar called "For You", this is the bar where the two egypt guys took us the first night in Hurghada and we fell in love with it. We had a great night with Nicole and Holger, smoked Shisha, drank and talked - it was really nice to meet them again. Thanks for such a great night. :)
Tuesday was our second snorkling trip. It was not as great as the first one, but only because the Tour Guide kind of sucked. He was mean and not kind at all. But the fishes and corals were great too. The only thing i don't like about snorkling are the people. Omg it was so crowded in the water.. But still enjoyable. ;) Also we went to the Paradise Island. A Island with no shadow, white sand and beautiful water... it really was a paradise. Wednesday was our last day in Egypt. We went to Hurghada again to finish shopping, went to the "For You" Bar again and enjoyed our last hours in the beautiful Egypt. At 9pm we got picked up at the hotel and got to the airport, where we met all from our group (ship group - besides Axel and Christine, they only had the Nile Cruise - sadly) and flew home... :( :( Salam Habibi!!!!!

The flight back home was not better than the flight to Egypt. It was even more horrible. This time, not only I got sick. Alexa got sick too and she had to suffer quite awhile. But we made it home and looked at all the pictures (a total amount of 965 self-taken-photos) and the videos we bought.

We still look at the pictures quite often (i think almost everytime we see each other and we see each other almost on a daily basis..:D), we keep talking about this awesome vacation. It was great. Thanks to my parents friends for giving us this vacation and thanks to my parents for helping us pay a little and thanks to the people we met in Egypt (all, Germans and Egyptian). Because of you all, Alexa and I had a unforgettable vacation. THANK YOU!

Now, the last sentences. ;-) I hope we meet all the nice Persons we met on the Nile Cruise (our awesome 9 Person Group) again. And to Egypt is to say, we will come back.. Sooner or Later but believe it will be soon enough. ;-) xD To the photos is to say, if you want to see more pictures (a couple are on my Facebook-Page) just ask me. I will be happy to show you some of our photos we took. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. :)

Also a huge Thank You to Alexa. Honey, thank you for coming with me, thank you for making this 14 days so unforgetable. Thank You. I love you honey!!!!

This is only the basic Information. It happened so much, i can't write everything down, it not even near to be possible. :) So enjoy and be jelaous... haha.. just kidding. Enjoy!

Salam!

p.s. sorry for spelling and grammar mistakes, most of it i wrote in the middle of the night. ;-) Busy Busy... xD

Alexa and I on one of the Snorkeling Trips, my all time favorite photo of this vacation and of us. :)

a bit of summer.

9/21/2010

Since i haven't been writing lately i thought i'll post a little note today. Semester-Summer-Break is almost over (well, we still have about a month, but it's getting close). Most of my Break i stayed home in Kassel, we had a few really nice bbqs at the park - played soccer and volleyball and went to the lake. I also wrote one 15 page paper and turned it in in August. My second one was done by August 31th, so i've only one left to finish (i'm almost done, only a few pages left). I'm sick of writing all that papers and i can't stand the fact of knowing there will be even more papers to write next semester - i'm more of an exam person. Well i can't help it, it has to be done, so i do it. :)

Also, Alex and I went to see her family at their vacation spot at the north sea. It were 9 awesome, relaxing days. I enjoyed it so much and want to thank her and her family for letting me come and be a part of their vacation. I loved it. Wanna come back next year. xD

Ok, it's late - just wanted to update a bit. Oh btw. Alex and my next vacay is coming up. 10 Days left and we'll be sitting on a Nile-Cruise-Ship in Egypt. :) I'm
totally excited for that vacation and will tell you what happend when i'm back. :)

Since, i've been thinking and changing alot lately i wanted to send out some greetings to my lovely friends Alex and Johnny, you two are great, i'm the new Laura because of you and i'm extremly greatful for that. I'm happy...yes i'm happy with my life right now.. STRIKE! xDDDD
